CLASSIC
The Five classic Typefaces are Garamond (old style), Baskerville (Traditional), Bodoni (Modern), Century (Egyptian), and Helvetica (contemporary). Each of these type faces represents a distinct stage in the evolution of type design. They remain amongst the most popular and widely used typefaces today in the graphic world. My objective is to show how these typefaces overlapped through time in one letter. The ampersand is a visual representation of the phrase “and, per se and.” It is a graphic representation of the Latin “et,” which translates to “and.” This symbol has distinct meanings, rules for proper usage and includes many pretty distinct styles. This idea was inspired from a project done in Color theory class which is Transparency illusion.
